Step Two: increase in adjunct pay by $33.00 per credit hour taught (a 3 credit course would provide a $99.00 increase), after 60 hours of Adjunct Faculty Development have been voluntarily accumulated. The new title of Associate Faculty is earned at that point.

60 hours, including completion of the TLC ScenariosOnline, is required to achieve the Associate Faculty status. The TLC serves as our foundation course in Community College teaching. [Adjuncts who have already accomplished 60 hours of this work will be granted credit and brought into the system as Associate Faculty.] It is possible to earn 60 hours within one academic year. A 3-year time limit applies to hours earned as well as the Associate Faculty status. Renewal of the status depends on having accomplished 60 additional hours during the intervening three years (for instance, taking 20 hours per year would be one way to keep the status current).
As of Fall Term, 2005, a professional development transcript of approved courses, workshops, projects, events, etc., has been available to faculty through the Atlas system. Upon receipt of an Atlas transcript showing 60 hours as outlined above, the Faculty Development Coordinator will notify Human Resources to award the new title and approve the increment in pay, beginning with the next semester. The adjunct faculty member must initiate all paperwork for the increase, nothing is automatic.
