

Since the Miami Dolphin's inaugural season in 1966, The Dolphin Cheerleaders have been a part of the Dolphin's home game experience.
1966 - The Dolphin Dolls appeared on the sideline of the Dolphins' home games at the Orange Bowl. The Dolphin Dolls consisted of 125 girls ranging from the age of 8 to 18 years old. Of the 125, 48 were selected each week to perform on the sidelines, the rest would cheer from the stands.

1978 - New owner Joe Robbie formed the Dolphin Starbrites, consisting of 30 young ladies. Joe Robbie hired Emmy award winning choreographer June Taylor to help give the cheerleaders a more professional look. They would perform Broadway-style half-time shows at the Orange Bowl.

1990 - Former Dolphin cheerleader Kathy Morton Shasthay to over as choreographer and began to glamorize the Dolphin Cheerleaders.

Want to be a Dolphins' Cheerleader?
To audition for the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, you must be at least 18 years of age and attend school or work full-time. Cheerleaders typically range in age from 18-35 and have included: attorneys, teachers, nurses, realtors, marketing coordinators and even mothers.
