I adopted Dakota from the adopt a pet at Pet Smart in Waterford Lakes on January 29, 2005.

Every Pet Smart holds adoptions on the weekend, Friday - Sunday! They bring a wide assortment of the animals in thier shelters; Cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits, guinepigs and more.

I have adopted 3 animals, all from different places and have loved each and everyone of them. I agree on adopting an animal more than buying pure bred cats or dogs, because mutts tend to have more personality than pure bred dogs, and they are more unique. Another perk about adopting an animal is that you are saving it's life, once abandond, and now it can have a home.

If you are interested in adopting an animal you can contact your local humane society, the ASPCA, or visiting your local Pet Smart store. If you like animals, but can't adopt, the shelters also take donations to help with surgeries, supplies, food, and the up keep of all the animals. So check it out, you could be saving lives!
