What is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi?

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a hardy little dog with a long body and very short legs. His foxy head with pricked ears and bright eyes denotes alertness and keen intelligence. They are low-set, sturdily built and active, giving an impression of substance and stamina in a small place. Curiosity, intelligence, inventiveness, humor, sensitivity, trainability, loyalty and affection are all typical of a Corgi's wonderful mind.
Welsh Corgis come from Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire in southern Wales. They mostly lived on farms and were great herders for cattle and sheep. The word Corgi means "dwarf dog" and also "to watch over" in Welsh.
Corgi's are wonderful dogs! There are many breeders and adoption centers to get your new Corgi from. Do some research...you will chose a Corgi too, I promise. Just like I did. Here is a picture of my Corgi, Stinker. I couldn't ask for a more loyal and loving dog!
